Rowena Miller Robinow, 79, Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, and Chisholm, Minnesota, died Friday, January 14, 2011, after a long illness.   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 17, at Congregation Beth Torah, 6100 W. 127th Street in Overland Park, Kansas, followed by burial at Mount Moriah Cemetery, South. Mrs. Robinow, the former Rowena Miller, was born September 29, 1931 in Chisholm, Minnesota, the "Range," as the iron mining area of northern Minnesota is known. She was the daughter of Roslyn Kaner Miller and Jake Miller. She attended Chisholm schools and graduated from the University of Minnesota Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Social Work.  She married Alvin Robinow, of Sioux City, Iowa, February 2, 1952 in Minneapolis.  The couple established a well-respected and successful hardware store in 1958 in Sioux City.  Mrs. Robinow opened one of the first kitchen specialty stores in the area in the 1970's.  They operated the store until 1978.  The couple moved to Overland Park, Kansas, after retirement to be closer to their daughter, Amy Robinow Franklin and her family.  Mr. Robinow passed away December 25, 1999.    Survivors include a daughter, Amy Robinow Franklin, and her husband, Scott Franklin, of Overland Park; a daughter, Lisa Robinow, and her husband, Robert H. Chiang, of Ithaca, New York; a brother, Irving L. Miller, and his wife, Diane Miller, of Rochester, Minnesota; three granddaughters: Robyn "Yali" Franklin and Jill Franklin, of Overland Park, and Molly Louise Chiang, of Saratoga Springs, New York; one grandson, James Alan Chiang, of Ithaca, New York; and several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her favorite dog, Jingle Franklin.   In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Village Shalom, Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, or Congregation Beth Torah.
